What is Hogback Mountain Paintball?

Hogback Mountain Paintball is an outdoor paintball park located in Leesburg, Virginia. We offer walk-on paintball, private group games, low-impact paintball, birthday parties, corporate team-building events, youth group outings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and large scenario-style Big Games.

Where is Hogback Mountain Paintball located?

Hogback Mountain Paintball is located in Leesburg, Virginia, in Loudoun County. Our park sits on 70 acres and features 16 unique outdoor paintball fields.

What days are you open?

Hogback is open for walk-on play every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Private groups may be scheduled seven days a week by reservation.

What is walk-on paintball?

Walk-on paintball is open public play for individual players, small groups, or anyone who does not have enough players for a private group. You do not need a private reservation to join walk-on games.

Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are recommended for private groups and required for certain group packages. Walk-on players can usually come out during regular walk-on hours, but booking online in advance is recommended when available.

How old do you have to be to play paintball?

Traditional paintball is recommended for players ages 10 and up. Low-impact paintball is recommended for players ages 8 and up.

What is low-impact paintball?

Low-impact paintball offers the same teamwork, outdoor action, and fun as traditional paintball, but with less sting. It is a great option for younger players, first-time players, birthday parties, families, youth groups, and anyone who wants a more comfortable paintball experience.

Is paintball safe?

Yes. Safety is our top priority. All players must wear approved paintball masks in designated play areas at all times. Before playing, every group receives a safety briefing and instructions from our staff.

Do you provide rental equipment?

Yes. Rental packages include the basic equipment needed to play, including a paintball marker, protective mask, air fills, and paintballs depending on the package selected.

Can I bring my own paintball gear?

Can I bring my own paintballs?

No. Hogback Mountain Paintball is a field-paint-only facility. All paintballs used at Hogback must be purchased from Hogback. This helps us maintain safety, quality, and environmental standards.

What should I wear to play paintball?

We recommend wearing comfortable outdoor clothing, long sleeves, long pants, and shoes suitable for running or walking on natural terrain. Cleats or boots with good traction are helpful. Dress for the weather and expect to get dirty.

Does paintball paint wash out?

In most cases, paintball paint washes out of clothing. We still recommend wearing clothes and shoes you do not mind getting dirty.

Should I arrive early?

Yes. We recommend arriving about 30 minutes before your scheduled start time. This gives your group time to check in, complete waivers, get equipment, and go through the safety briefing.

Does everyone need to fill out a waiver?

Yes. Every player must complete a waiver before entering the playing areas. For players under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the waiver.

Do you host birthday parties?

Yes. Hogback is a great place for birthday parties. We offer private group options, low-impact paintball for younger players, picnic areas, and add-on options to help make the day easy and fun.

What if I do not have enough players for a private group?

If you do not have enough players for a private group, walk-on play is a great option. You can still come out, play paintball, and use the picnic areas for a celebration.

Do you host corporate or team-building events?

Yes. Hogback is a popular choice for corporate team-building events, company outings, youth groups, church groups, school groups, and other organized events.

How many players do I need for a private group?

Private groups require a minimum of 6 players for a 2-hour group and 8 players for a 3-hour or all-day group.

Hogback can also accommodate large groups, including events with 200+ players. Groups of 40 or more players must be booked by phone or email and cannot be booked online.

Can large groups play at Hogback?

Yes. Hogback can host small private groups as well as large events with many players. Please contact us in advance so we can help plan the best setup for your group.

Do you have picnic areas?

Yes. Hogback has outdoor picnic areas available for groups. These areas are great for food, cake, presents, and relaxing before or after your games.

Can we bring food and drinks?

Yes. Groups may bring food and non-alcoholic drinks. Many groups bring pizza, snacks, cake, and water for birthday parties or group events.

Do you sell food?

No. Hogback Mountain Paintball does not sell food on-site. You are welcome to bring your own food or have food delivered to the field.

For delivery, we recommend calling local restaurants directly instead of using third-party delivery apps, since those services sometimes deliver to the wrong location. Spanky’s Pizza in Leesburg regularly delivers to the field and can be reached at 703-779-7499.

Is alcohol allowed?

No. Alcohol is not allowed on the premises.

Are you open if it rains?

Hogback is open rain or shine unless the weather is unsafe for play or driving. If severe weather affects the schedule, updates will be posted on social media.

What are Big Games?

Big Games are large scenario-style paintball events where players join teams and complete missions throughout the day. These events are great for players looking for a larger, more action-packed paintball experience.

Can first-time players play at Hogback?

Absolutely. Many of our players are first-timers. Our staff will explain the rules, help with equipment, and make sure everyone understands how to play safely before the games begin.
